Gordon Fuller:

I am endorsing Darcy Olsen because I believe her hands on experience in dealing with municipal bureaucracy, through her consulting company, on zoning, development permit and variance applications to be an asset. Along with her strong social background and her willingness to terminate her business to avoid potential conflict of interest Darcy shows a level of commitment and integrity we need to see on council.

As a parent of three young children and as a Nanaimo physician, I’m proud to support Darcy Olsen for City Council. Olsen is passionate about the issues that matter to my family, balanced in her approach, and comes from a background making her ideally suited to making things work at city hall.

Olson has a balanced approach to taxation and city services: She advocates building the city’s population and business base to allow for improved services without outrageous tax increases.
Similarly, Darcy Olsen takes the pragmatic view was that social housing is important for our community, and that it can work for the homeless, the city, our neighbourhoods and residents, provided that the appropriate supports are in place.

Ms Olsen has worked as an advocate, as a government official, and most recently she has run her own successful business here in Nanaimo. Nanaimo’s polarized city council could desperately use Darcy Olsen’s combination of social, government and small business experience.
I recently chose to move my family to Nanaimo, and intend to work, live and play in this community for years to come.  With people like Darcy Olsen on city council, Nanaimo has a strong future of balanced growth, benefiting all of its citizens.

Genevieve LeDuc:

As a small business owner in Nanaimo, I support Darcy Olsen and her
quest for a seat on Nanaimo City Council.
Darcy is a woman with positive energy, knowledge and experience in
local politics.
Darcy understands the need for a balanced approach to economic and
social development and she has the ability to bring that balance to a
seat on council.
Nanaimo will benefit from new energy and fresh ideas on council.
Darcy will bring all those qualities to the table if she is elected.
